OWRA Members receive PRIORITY registration September 1 - 15th.  Workshop will be available to everyone on September 16.

This lab will help you improve your physical exam skills and teach you relevant anatomy.  At the end you will feel more confident examining your intake animals and stabilizing them until you can get them to the vet.  We will walk through a case and cover physical exam, stabilization, and common physical exam abnormalities to watch out for.  We will also cover anatomy relevant to the rehabilitation of different species.  Learn things like why cottontails are harder to tube feed, why their digestion is so different, where nerves and vessels are in the limbs and how that relates to trauma, how to determine the location and severity of spinal cord damage, and much more.  This class will cover mammals only.  At the end of the lecture portion (3 hours) we will have an optional 1 hour necropsy lab to put your anatomy knowledge to use! This workshop has been approved for CE Credit by the OMVLB. Separate registration required.  Instructor: Dr. Lynn Dunlap, DVM, Born to be Wild, Wildlife Rescue  & Rehabilitation, Inc
